It would be great (
) if DirMon2 had the option to put the PC into Standby or Hibernate mode when all the current processing has completed. For example, I would like to be able to wake the PC at 2:00am each day - let DirMon2 check if there are any files to be processed, and then put the PC back to Standby when all the processing (comskip and VideoRedo) has completed on those files ... ![]() |

Right now you can set up the Clean Up to delete files in a directory when there is no matching file with specified extensions in that directory.
How about being able to do that but if there is no matching file with specified extensions in a different directory. For example deleting the commercials XML in the centralized commercialsxml directory file if there is no matching dvr-ms in another directory. This is something DTB's Filewatcher does, but dirmon is MUCH better that filewatcher... Does this make sense? |

Consideration for the next DirMon2 release:
Add hidden trigger for files to be processed. This option will allow DirMon2 to process only files without the Hidden attribute. I have written a small c program which is executed by DirMon and it checks only for mpg files !Hidden and no Vprj file present. It then spawns ShowAnalyzer for processing. This works very well for Beyond TV files when creating VideoRedo output - so the concept works. This allows unlimited Live TV without ShowAnalyzer executing. It also does not allow recordings in progess to be processed since they also have the Hidden attribute. Thanks, |

Hey, Hello Jere,
I wanted to request the addition of blackout times for the orphaned file cleanup. I think it may be the simplest solution to some windows bugs (partial directory listings and windows still allowing deletion from file shares remotely) I've found while a remote system is shutting down. Thanks, Bobby ps- pretty please |

Maybe I am just missing the documentation somewhere, but it would be nice under the "Help" menu to either have a link to an HTML documentation page, or a built in help form. Tooltips would be nice also.
For example, I have several questions: *How is the "Resource Required" used? *What does the Timeout mean? *What does "Queue Priority Boost: This Job" mean? *It took me a couple of tries to realise I should leave out the dot in the file extension *The time that is entered for "Time between file size tests" and "Time between drive free space tests"... is that seconds or minutes? *How does it know when a file is finished? Do the test times mention above play a part in that? *What is "Blackout" used for? What are the times for it? *In Global Settings, what are "Total Resources Available" and "Polling Time in Seconds" used for? Great app by the way, just need a few minutes of work on the documentation ![]() |

^^ Jere is there any (ready or unready) formalized help on the website? I've done a search (but not an exhaustive search) and I have the same questions as posted just above.
I would really like to see a feature such as target file age as a determining factor -- I want to run some jobs only on files that have been around for 7 - 14 days. thx Cory |

Nice looking software! Thanks for the freebie with this.
Requesting the ability to trigger processing items based on creation date of the file. The idea would be to only transcode recordings older than a defined number of days/weeks. This could also be expanded for more flexibility to include a disk space free on target drive clause. This would be a HUGE feature for most any PVR application. The other suggestion that comes to mind in the cleanup process is to remove empty sub directories directories. edit; I just realized the software hasn't been updated in a long time. Any chance of seeing this features in the near future? I'm going to write a shell script for now that uses find to idenitfy old files and create a empty file called $TargetFile.dirmon and use that as a trigger in DirMon2. I'll post this in the forums once I get around to doing this. |
