Dirmon request: prevent standby

I'm getting often system hangs when my computer resumes from standby. And I'm 90% sure this is caused by showanalyzer running before the computer goes on standby.
I'm not sure if this request is mostly appropriate for dirmon or showanalyzer, but it would be very usefull if they could prevent the system from going on standby while they are running... Also when the computer is waking up it could mean there is a show to record so then Showanalyzer has to wait even more.
I did some search in the forums to find what api can be used to prevent the computer to go on standby and this post presents the win32 api:

This would be an excellent option - I use MediaPortal with PVR Scheduler to do scheduled TV recordings and normally PVR Scheduler would then put the PC to standby as soon as the recording has finished. So I have been trying to work out a way to keep the PC from going to standby until the ad-removal process has finished....this sounds like the perfect answer....
