Default Dirmon2 and Standby

Just re-built a new system and am using 0.6.1 and have noted that my computer never goes into standby when Dirmon2 is installed. I have upped the polling with no effect. Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions?

I'm not sure. It is an interesting problem. I'll look into it.

Just wanted to note that I updated to 0.6.2 and now goes into standby when idle. Everything is working properly now. Thanks

I have a similar (kind of) reoccurring problem. Coming out of Standby is not a problem, but when I reboot, DirMon is always OFF, and I must restart it manually. I did set it to be on when rebooting, yes.

Using DirMon 6.0 at the moment.

Have you checked the settings in the services manager? (Right click on My Computer, then Manage, then Services)

Hi Jere

I had not checked there, but just did. It was set to Manual. I changed it to Automatic. Hope that helps, though I'd think that Manual would be sufficient.....no?

Thanks.

There are three options:
  • Disabled - the service cannot be started by anyone
  • Manual - an external program can start the service
  • Automatic - Windows will start the service on startup
To get the behavior you want, automatic is the right choice.

Thanks for that Jere.

Question: Why does DirMon not default to "Automatic" in Services? That would be good, if you could do that.

There is an option to "Start Automatically at bootup". Clicking that option and then uninstalling/installing the service should set it to Automatic.
