What settings or commands do I need in order to use comskip with Dirmon2?
I have SA and have used it quite a bit but comskip simply does a better job. Recently more and more shows are giving SA fits so...I am reluctanly going to give comskip a go.

Job Management tab:
1) Click [New] in the lower left. Name your process "Comskip" 2) In Directories, add your affected directories 3) In Program to run, point to your comskip.exe file. Mine is: C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\comskip.exe 4) In Targets, enter "mpg" (no quotes), and pick "File extension only" radio button 5) In command line options, I have an INI file specified. This is optional, but mine reads: --ini="C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\comskip.ini" 6) If you want more than 1 instance of comskip to run at a time, set Resources Required to 50 or less. 100 divided by this number will be the number of simultaneous jobs that will run. 7) "Must exist" should have "mpg" 8) "Must not exist" should be "txt" if you use txt files for skipping, or "edl" if you use the new SageTV comskip playback module for edl files. Global Settings: 1) Click [Add] at the bottom to add file cleanup instructions. 2) Enter your directory 3) Enter the file extensions that should be cleaned up. Mine reads: edl, vprj, txt, log, ccyes 4) Enter the file extension that triggers a cleanup--usually the absence of a "mpg," but if you transcode, you may trigger on other extensions as well. 5) Not sure if this is needed or not, but I unchecked Run As "LocalSystem" and checked "User" and entered my own username/password to run the service. Now do a File > Save. Then press [Install]. Then press [Start]. DirMon2 should now install itself as a service that starts automatically upon reboot, and will spawn subprocesses of comskip when mpg's are detected without corresponding txt or edl files. You can go to the Current Status tab (press [Refresh] if needed) and see if jobs are queued and running. Hope that helps! |
