Hi,
I have been using Dirmon2 for a couple of weeks now and it's really a great program. I have it almost set up to do exactly what I want, but I'm having problems getting that last bit in place. My main issue is the way the triggers work. As I understand it, the triggers are applied at job run time, to determine if a job in the queue should execute or not. Wouldn't it be much more intuitive and efficient to apply the trigger criteria at job create time? Let me describe my setup: I'm using Dirmon2 to monitor new dvr-ms recordings from Mediaportal. As a new file turns up, Dirmon2 starts DVRMSToolbox, which calls SA to strip out commercials and then converts the file to an mpg with the same name and in the same directory as the source file. To accomplish this, I have set the target as dvr-ms and the triggers to dvr-ms must exist and mpg must not exist. It works as planned but... As Dirmon scans the watched directory, it creates a job in the queue not only for new recordings, but also for all the old, already processed files. Every day the job queue gets longer and longer. And even though the jobs don't actually do anything, it still takes a minute or two for each job to clear the queue. Is this the way it is supposed to work or have I set it up wrong? Thanks again for a great program! /Michael |

The jobs shouldn't get added to the queue unless the triggers match up. There is just an extra step of reverifying that the triggers match before running the job in case anything has changed.
Can I see your ini file? Jere

My only remaining question is what the "File extension only" vs. "Entire file path" option means? Thanks, Michael |

It gives you the option to match just the extension, or something somewhere in the entire filename. I don't remember why, but someone needed to match against the path, so I added that option.
