Could someone walk me through how to setup the newest version? The version I have looks nothing like the pics in the first post. I'm especially confused "source extensions" and "target extension" fields which don't seem to exist in my version. Thanks

Maybe you downloaded DirMon, instead of DirMon2? I don't think the interface has changed, but I'll have to take another look...

I have SA 9.7 and DM 2.5 and I'm noticing some odd
behavior that I didn't see before. While a show is taping (using sagetv) Dirmon will run and detect the new mpg and start SA to process it. However, since it will finish processing the show (or whatever is there up to that point) it doesn't seem to ever revisit that file again. Which means it will never update the edl file to include any future commercials. With the old version it seemed like it wouldn't stop processing an open mpg until sagetv was done recording - it looked like it would detect commercials almost as they were recorded. Did something change in Dirmon (or showanalyzer) that would explain this? I have a feeling that I may need to uncheck the "process file even if it is being written to" checkbox but I'd really prefer not do since I liked have the real-time detection. I am able to use Dirmon2 without problems if I set the "Targets" field to "file extensions only" and use "mpg" in the "Targets" field.
However, I would like to restrict the files that will be processed. I tried setting the "Targets" field to "entire file path", which did not work using wildcards. For example, I used: d:\video\abc*.mpg,d:\video\nbc*.mpg in the "Targets" field. Is it possible to use 'wildcards' in the file names? If not, the option of using "entire file path" would not be very useful, since the exact file names cannot be predicted in the future. Dave |

what are you trying to make it do - not process some shows? Maybe you can use the "Ignore" options? Or else use the directories folder and only have files you want analyzed put in the proper folders?
