Default How to start dirmon automatically?

I moved a shortcut to dirmon into my startup folder, but found that when my wife logs in it starts a second session of it.

How can I get dirmon to start like a service in XP?

thanks,
dave

It would be a nice feature to have SA and DirMon able to launch as a service.

I don't know if it will work, but have you tried FireDaemon? I use it for a few things and it works well. I have had it not work with certain programs though. There's a free trial you can try I believe.

Making DirMon a service is on the todo list. For now, you can put DirMon into your startup folder, but not your wife's. Look in the Documents and Settings folder and you should see folders for yourself, your wife and "All Users". Drill down into the "All Users" until you find the shortcut. Remove it and place it in the corresponding folder for your account. Now DirMon will start when you log in, but not when she does.

I realize this is not an ideal solution, but it will get the job done until I resume work on DirMon.

Wow, glad to see you will eventually make Dirmon a service. I for one can't wait. Since I run a dedicated Sage server that isn't used for playback and is rarely logged onto I set up a scheduled task that loads Dirmon at system start. I rebooted the server to test and it may be running but it may not be. After logging on Task Manager does show a Dirmon process but there is no Taskbar icon and it doesn't seem to be calling SA when needed. Any ideas or will I have to stay logged on until Dirmon becomes a service?

BTW, Schoolhouse Rocks!
