Having a problem with file cleanup

I've been using DirMon2 with no problems, but I just recently made a change and now I'm a little confused. My recordings are recorded in mpg format. I have a cleanup rule that states if the extension mpg doesn't exist then delete files with extentions log,txt,edl. I'm now starting to want to compress the files to avi, so I change the rule to say if the extension mpg,avi doesn't exist then delete files with extentions log,txt,edl. If the mpg is there, the files stay, when the avi replaces the mpg, in the next polling interval the log,txt, and edl files are gone. Did I setup something wrong or did I find a bug?

Make sure that you save the changes and then stop and restart the service.

That is so odd. I know that I restarted the service after saving, but it does appear to be working now.
