Default DVRMSToolbox comskip not working

I understand that I am not really at the right forum for this, but as a last ditch attemp I thought I would try it.

First some pertant info.
SA 0.5.10
DVRMSToolbox 1.0.9.6
MCE 2005 US

I installed the apps and did manage to get one show to autoskip. After that I went ahead and purchased SA. Since then I have had several breaks in the commercial skip fuction within MCE. I updated SA and reinstalled DVRMSTB. I was able to get it going again. However now I am presented with the "Xml file not found" error. The files are being created in the proper folder and SA is doing a fine job of marking the commercials. Recently I uninstalled everything and searched the registry for all mention of DVRMSTB and deleted them. I then reinstalled using the default version of SA in the install package just to see if it was some weird issue with the newer version of SA. I am still having the same problems.

The green button forums has not been alot of help and no one is answering the post by other people as well as myself about this issue. I figured this might be a good place to try since the two programs seem to go hand and hand.

Thanks for any help.

You don't mention if you are using Rollup 2 for MCE. I believe that it is required for later versions of the Toolbox. If you don't want to install Rollup 2, you might try looking for an older version of the Toolbox.

If it's not that, I don't know. Is babgvant still active over there? He was normally pretty good about helping his users.

Opps, forgot to metion that. Yes I have rollup2.

He seemed to be very active but hasn't posted in a week or so.

I figured someone may have had the same issue and with all the people constantly posting over here I might have a better chance.

By the way I would like to say thanks, not only for the program, but I can't remember when I saw the author of a program posting so much in the way of newbie help.

Sometimes life interferes. Most of us do this part time so I'm sure he'll be back.

Default Sucess

After banging away at this, I finally got somewhere.

I reinstalled windows and started fresh.

.Net 1.1 and the Hot fix for it. Latest DVRMS and SA.

This was not working. I removed the Hotfix and repaired DVRMSToolbox.

rebooted

And had much love.

I am going to try to recreate the problem this weekend and see if I can get it to work with the Hotfix in place or .Net2.0

One of the many reasons that I stick to plain old C++.

I finally got around to trying to recreate this.

I intalled the hotfix and the SP3 for .Net 1.1, repaired DVRMStoolbox and everthing ran just like before.

I have no idea why the problem happened or why I wasn't able to correct it without the total reinstall of the OS.

babgvant is suppose to be releaseing another version shortly apperently alot of bug fixes dealing with mediastate and the eventlog overflow problem. So maybe thtat will fix it up just great.

Thanks for the suggestions and listening to me write out my issues.

Tom
