What the !@#$ is going on with Jere?

Hi all,

So as some (many? all?) of you have noticed, I haven't been around in a while. There have been problems with keys being delivered. There haven't been any updates on SAV1. And, to top it all off, I haven't been around to answer questions.

While I could give a long detailed explaination of my absence, it wouldn't be sufficient. I can only say that I'm sorry for my absence. ShowAnalyzer has not been abandoned. Your money has not gone into a deep dark hole.

There are two specific topics that I would like to address:

1) Non delivery of keys: As is common knowledge to internet users, spam is a huge problem. The filters that battle that problem are aggressive. On 28 October 2008, Spamhaus (The Spamhaus Project) came up with a new rule that triggered 80% of the keys sent out as spam. I didn't notice at the time. I didn't notice until a couple weeks ago that there was a problem with keys. That I did not notice was not acceptable on my part and it won't happen again. When I did notice, I made some changes that "seemed" to fix it. A couple days later and 90% of keys were being blocked. That clearly wasn't the answer, so I've made some drastic changes. The end result is that I have changed ISP's and have an email server that I monitor here at home that is now a properly registered email server and has been successfully sending out emails. I have resent all keys that should have been sent going back to 28 October. There are a couple keys that have invalid email addresses. If that is you, please call me at (904)745-3189 and we'll get that fixed. That is my home phone number. I silence it at night, but during reasonable hours I'll pick it right up.

2) SAV1 Progress: I've stated before that I hate Vista. Yeah, that hasn't changed. It is a fine OS, but some of the security changes that make it a fine OS are extremely frustrating for me. For the last few versions of SAV1, everything I did made the problem worse or exasperated other problems. I decided to take a break from it for a week. That week turned into two. Then three. And now here we are months later. Everytime I went to work on it, I would get very unmotivated. Then I went back to work on it in earnest using some virtual machines to do testing. I believe I have it fixed and will post a new release this evening or tomorrow that works in Vista x86 and x64.

To everyone that has continued to help newcomers and kept this board alive in my absence, thank you. Your work is appreciated.

This was a difficult post to write. It is always difficult to admit publicly that I could have been better. That I should have been better. As Hancock said "I will be better."

I've been watching this forum like a hawk, waiting for your return. Didn't feel comfortable buying the software until you surfaced.

Anywho.. Now that your back can you explain your website?? When I go to buy ShowAnalyzer it tells me it's one price before Sept 6th and another after Sept 6th. What's the price man?? Sept 6th of what year even?

I've fixed that. To summarize, $20 and lifetime upgrades if you buy before I release V1. $30 and a year of updates afterwards.

So you know I have to ask, when do you think you'll finish. I'm not being cheap. I "MAY" (big may) build myself a couple more MCE systems and would buy both licenses now (even if I'm not sure I'll do it yet) if you think it will be less then a couple months.

how far back does this go? If i bought my key in 2007, will i still get upgrades? or would it be wise of me to buy a new one to make sure i get the future updates?
