I've been searching/reading through all of the threads that might help with with this and I noticed some where you suggested trying "Manual".

If I use "Manual" and something like "1" for the threshold, is this going to give SA the best chance at finding those pesky commercials?

The other issue I have is with a general drift or offset between the detected commercials and the actual playback. What happens is starting with the 2nd commercial detected, the detection is always ~5-7 seconds later than it should be.

When watching the show, starting with the 2nd commercial DVRMSToolbox doesn't skip when the commercial starts. 5-8 seconds later it skips, but now it skips 5-8 seconds past where the show starts again.

I've been looking at the settings in "Configure ShowAnalyzer" and noticed the "commercial padding". I tried making changes here when I was running 0.91 and it didn't seem to make any difference in the XML file, nor did it improve the offset.

I was thinking if I set a constant 5 or so second offset that it would work around the issue fairly well.

How would I tell SA to always move all commercials 5 seconds earlier?

The reality is I need to do this only for HD recordings, but it is easy to set up a profile for HD channels (800-900) with this offset while leaving the SD channels with the current profile.

I'm running version 9.7(the only one available for download at the moment) and am still having this problem, so I assume that the issue hasn't been fixed yet. I spent a lot of time trying to get this program to work. I suppose that I'll have to wait for the next version. In the meantime I've reverted back to Comskip as Showanalyzer is missing too many commercials. I'd really like to use Showanalyzer, because when it works, it works well. It seems to work almost 100% with shows recorded from NBC and ABC with the default settings, but I mostly have this problem with shows recorded from CBS. By using Schoolhouse and adjusting the parameters, I get not only good results but perfect results even with shows on CBS. It's just that by running the file through Showanalyzer with the same settings, it misses about half of the commercials. Any ideas on how I can get Showanalyzer's results to match the results of Schoolhouse would be greatly appreciated. I am analyzing HD content from dvr-ms files created by Vista Media Center.

I'm new at this so could be something that I'm doing wrong and not the software. It seems really well written.
