Default HD-PVR -> H.264 -> TS files & SAV1 settings

Hi all,

I've been trying to analyze some TS files that my HD-PVR has been recoding for me without any success (only running with the default values) Would someone be kind enough to post their Canadian SAV1 settings that seem to be working for them with this combination of file format.

Many thanks ahead of time,
Belgrath

I think I've narrowed the non detection to the type of show that is being recorded. If I ran a TS file thru SAV1 that is purely HD, meaning there's no side pillar boxs then I get the proper commercial detection, however, if the original content is actually SD, the end TS file will have grey bars to the left and right of the actual video. It is these files that are causing me my grief.

Are there any SA settings that would allow the detection/calculation to only happen in a designated area of the video? Say the inside 50%. The other option is to figure out why I'm seeing grey bars and not black...

Issue was my HD cable receiver, all I needed to do was set the TV bars to dark and not light and the grey bars have disappeared.

Did that improve the detection enough? If not there is are settings for how much of the right, left, top, and bottom (each is a separate setting) to ignore.

Indeed, this seems to have fixed things. I'll run a few additional checks this evening. I am having another issue with how dirmon2 isn't launching SA properly, I"m not sure if I have the correct settings within SA, or if its dirmon2 directly. I can manually toss in dozens of TS files into SA and each one will be processed well, however, when they are q'ed up via dirmon2. The job only appears for a few seconds then disappears.

I did have older versions of SA and dirmon2 installed on this machine, but I manually removed each (Add/remove programs) before installing the new versions.

What command-line are you using in Dirmon2?

nothing... no options.

Programs to run: C:\Program Files\Dragon Global\ShowAnalyzerSuite\ShowAnalyzer.exe
Targets: TS (file extension only)
Options: none

That's your problem. You should be running ShowAnalyzerEngine.exe.

nice... that was it exactly. I'm noticing that the first 55% of detection goes relatively fast, post 55% the detection gets much much slower. Is this an issue with the actual display of the % complete, or is there something else at work here?

I've noticed something similar, but I'm not sure what percent it is. I've always attributed it to how much is loaded into memory before it has to start swapping out.
