Default commercials are cut most of the time

Dear Jere:

last night i recorded Perry Mason on the Hallmark channel. When the network cuts directly to a commericial it is cut out. When they go into a promo for the network, then to a commercial, the commercials are not cut out. this has also occurred on the SciFi channel. Can this be rectified?

Thank you

It depends on if SA can find the dividing point between the show and the promo. Fire up SchoolHouse and see if it did find a divider there. If it did, then it is just tweaking the length score modifiers. If not then try turning on Scene Change as a possible divider.
