Default SA global.ini

Don't know what I am doing wrong but my attempt to get SA to use a specified profile doesn't seem to be working.

With the following exerpt from my global.ini:

Quote:
Webserver = nielm28
Pause When Playing = 0
Pause When Recording = 0
[Setting Selection]
Count = 7
Setting 0 = test
Criteria 0 = filename is_exactly Studio60ontheSunsetStrip-Monday-9132208-0.ts
Setting 1
The resulting log seems ot indicate that SA is still using the default settings:

I have also tried to use just a segment of the file name with the "contains" qualifier and see the same behavior.

Any clues as to what is going on???

Lynn

This may be a silly question, but does test.ini exist in the settings directory?

Not at all a silly question Jere, just the kind of mistake I would make! But, this time it is clearly there, see below.

I see that you have 7 criteria set up. Do any of them work?

Seems like it doesn't start to write any content to the log file until after it finds a logo or the file completes and since I have problems finding logos I am waiting patiently for 60 Minutes to end! I am recording it both in SD as a .mpg and HD as a .ts file. Interestingly, the instance of SA that is processing the SD file has found a few commercials but not written any content to the log file while the HD process has two files, log and edl both created but empty. The program is about half way through as I am writing this.

The SD instance just wrote to the log file (38 minutes into the program) and it is using the designated profile, 60 Minutes.ini. Maybe it found a logo! Clearly it was doing something (by observation of the timestamps) but the file still remained empty for a long time.

The HD log file is still empty at 120 minutes after the start of the 60 minute program, though the first commercial was found before the program ended. Maybe the .ts is problematic or I may have something else screwed up. The prior observation, that triggered this thread, was also a .ts but on an NBC program rather than this CBS program. I'll try another experiment with a different profile selection tomorrow.

Just realized that this is a digital broadcast of 60 Minutes but it is still SD recorded as a .ts file. More confusion!

Lynn

Update:

Now (Monday morning) I can no longer reproduce this problem. Sorry for the false alarm. It was real when it happened but is gone now.
