How stable is 8.4? 8.7?

How stable are the beta versions?

For all of our TV watching (through MCE 2005), we're currently using DVRMSToolbox 1.1.0.2 which came with SA 7.11.28. Every few months I check out our system and upgrade anything that I can improve.

DVRMSToolbox 1.1.0.3 is out and it includes SA 8.4. But 8.4 is listed as a beta version and the more recent versions seem to be primarily bug fixes (so it seems if I am willing to run a beta version on our main system I should go all the way to 8.7).

Basically I'm trying to figure out which version to install. Is it best to stick with 7.11.28 or should I upgrade and if I upgrade, what version should I install.

0.8.5 - 0.8.7 don't have any updates that would help if you are using DVRMSToolbox.

My personal recommendation is that if you are happy with the commercial detection and you aren't experiencing any problems, then don't upgrade.

Unfortunately there seems to be some sort of memory or resource leak(s) somewhere with our system currently. After about a week of up-time it starts to bog down and respond slowly to the remote control. Checking the task manager there isn't all that much memory being used when it starts to bog down, but if we exit MCE the disk drive runs continuously for about a minute while it "clears" itself out. Doing this and then starting MCE up again by pressing the green button it works a fair bit better for a couple of days, but really it needs a reboot to be 100% again.

I'm fairly sure this started to occur when I installed DVRMSToolbox 1.1.0.2 which came with SA 7.11.28 but there were likely some Microsoft updates around the same time.

I was hoping upgrading to the latest version of DVRMSToolbox might fix this issue.
