The US users obviously can't use the Canadian settings... but I can't believe every US user is getting the same bad detection results as I am. Is there anyone out there that is happy with their results in the US?
I hate to say it but, I am about ready to go back to comskip, at least until SA improves. -Chris |

I'm using the default settings and SA is giving near perfect detection for everythigng I record on Comcast analog cable incuding:
Stargate SG-1 Stargate Atlantis Battlestar Galactica Rescue Me The Tonight Show The Inside The Closer The 4400 Master Blasters Ghost Hunters Chris Angel Mindfreak Wanted Pet Keeping with Mark Marone

So far, near 100% detection on American cable. I've tested several shows, including The Family Guy on Fox, Stella on Comedy Central, and a long special (Ape To Man) on The History Channel, and The Venture Brothers on Cartoon Network.

An 11 minute 30 second commercial break is about right, especially for those newsbreaks between commercials, usually at the top of the hour.
I have very similar settings, that also work very well on US stations, but found that Shortest Possible Commercial Segment = 9.5 actually works better, for station idents, and parental warnings, as they sometimes run (according to schoolhouse) 9.xx seconds, but not quite 10. A Shortest Possible Show Segment = 120 seems too short. Are you sure there are show segments less than 3 minutes? I use these settings Code:
Longest Possible Commercial Segment = 381 Longest Possible Individual Commercial = 91 Shortest Possible Commercial Segment = 9.5 Shortest Possible Show Segment = 180.5

The reason I used 120 is that I had a show segment that was for some reason very short right near the end of a show, before a commercial. I was using the schoolhouse, and the only way to get it green was to drop the level to 120. I'm sure it is a rarity, but it hasn't seemed to cause any misidentifications yet, and it made that particular show a 100% success.
