I don't know anything about TV in Aus, but could you post your settings, and maybe we can make some suggestions.
Have you tried Schoolhouse?

I've just downloaded SA here in Sydney, Australia and would be interested in any settings others have found work over here.

I'll do some testing over the next few days and post anything I find.

After playing with this for awhile, I've come to the conclusion that I almost need a different profile for every channel, if I want better than about 70% accuracy.
A few of you may have noticed that I've posted various settings, for various channels/shows, in various posts.
What I'd like to know, is if you want me (and others) to post channel specific settings, or just general settings, or nothing at all.
I've had great success on some channels, fine tuning with Schoolhouse, and have a couple of channels with 100% detection.
I'm not sure if my settings could be applied globally (or at least north america), because I have no idea what your capture setup is, nor do I know your cable reception quality, or if you want "teaser" portions included or excluded.
It seems a waste to post general settings that work for me, because they may not work at all for my next door neighbour, let alone someone in another country.
Feedback?

In my limited testing, I have found that Comskip seems to do a better overall job with one profile than SA.

Randy

UPDATE - After spending a little time testing out settings using School House, I was able to come up with a default setting which does work better for me than Comskip. I will say that the default Comskip setting worked better for me than the default SA setting, but SA is so well geared towards tweaking that I was able to come up with a good default for me which improve my commercial detection from SA's (and comskips) default settings.

Anyone have successful settings for the UK? I'd love to get this working, but haven't found any posted settings for UK as yet.

Thanks,

Tom

Jere
Theyre certainly a good start, but I found they dont actually work well on all channels.

Not found anything that works even slightly for Channel 4 yet.

If I could I'd post the settings, but something on this board causes IE to lock on my laptop when I try.

(Ahh Its the crappy new version of Zone alarm Pro that's stopping it. Tip dont buy it!)

For Five (analog channel) I use

Code:
Longest Possible Commercial Segment = 400
Longest Possible Individual Commercial = 120
Shortest Possible Commercial Segment = 18
Shortest Possible Show Segment = 57
[Score Modifiers]
Length Too Long = 0.1
Low Probability Length = 1.8
Length Too Short = 1
Medium Probability Length If Combined = 1.2
Medium Probability Length = 1.5
High Probability Length If Combined = 2
High Probability Length = 2
Edge Profile Positive Match = 0.1
Edge Profile Negative Match = 1
Edge Profile Unknown Match = 1
[Options]
Aggressive Segmentation = 0
and for ITV2 and ITV3 (Digital Channels)

Code:
Longest Possible Commercial Segment = 400
Longest Possible Individual Commercial = 120
Shortest Possible Commercial Segment = 44.5
Shortest Possible Show Segment = 35.5
[Score Modifiers]
Length Too Long = 0.1
Low Probability Length = 0.7
Length Too Short = 1
Medium Probability Length If Combined = 1.2
Medium Probability Length = 1.5
High Probability Length If Combined = 1.5
High Probability Length = 2
Edge Profile Positive Match = 0.1
Edge Profile Negative Match = 2
Edge Profile Unknown Match = 1
[Options]
Aggressive Segmentation = 1
Not found anything that works even slightly for Channel 4 yet.

Could someone host a portion of a recording from your channel 4?
A segment that contains show (3 minutes at least), commercial, show (another 3 minutes at minimum), would be enough.
For those impossible channels, agressive segmentation usually works better, with edge profile neutral.

I doubt you'll find settings that work on all channels. It just doesn't happen, because of the way they go to and from commercials. I have different profiles set up, to the point where I almost need a different one for each channel.
