Default Possible Trojan in showanalyzer.dll

After installing showanalyzerbeta.0.5.2 my anti-virus software reports the trojan
TR/Pakes.14 in showanalyzer.dll
I use Personal Antivir V6 (www.free-av.de) with current virus patterns.
I advise all users to check their installation for viruses too.

This is certainly a false positive. However, just to be sure, I have sent a message to their support team via this page. I included the file in question and a link to the download.
I request that you do the same.

Jere

Default Apologies

I did some more checks and i can support the theory that the antivirus software
might have reported a false positiv with showanalyzer.dll.

My intention was to inform other users to prevent any harm.
If my warning should turn out to have been premature, i apologize.
SA is a fine piece of software and I thank Jere for sharing it.

You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. I would encourage anyone that finds a virus or trojan in one of my programs to let me know.

After all, someone could have hacked my server and infected the installation file.

I thought you were very respectful and did not jump to any conclusions. You only stated your observations. Nothing wrong with that.

Thank you,
Jere

Default F-Secure jumps on the bandwagon ...

I submitted a copy of ShowAnalyzerWithSchoolHouseSetupBeta.0.8.1.exe via their support page for their perusal as a false detection ...

Bobby

ps -- is it the Commercial Broadcasters and writers telling the AntiVirus companies to give it a false positive?

I don't think so, but that would be funny.

The problem is that there are just SO MANY viruses and trojans that signatures are bound to be crossed.

Hi Jere
Just to inform you that after the latest beta install my Kaspersky reports a trojan in Showanalyzer.dll. The name is Trojan-PSW.Win32.QQPass.ng.

Possible a false positive but I guess you want to know anyway.
