Default Where's Jere?

Jere,

Haven't seen anything from you in a while. I was wondering if you're OK.

I'm also wondering how the next version is coming. I'm hoping you found the problem with the automatic settings for using different profiles.

Jere has been knee deep in code for the next version of SA. (Which is kinda impressive since the code starts at the fingertips. ) 8:30am to 1:30am coding sessions for the last few weeks. Except the week that my parents came to visit for my daughter's graduation which is the same week that the Hauppauge HD-PVR showed up on my doorstep. That required a call to DirecTV and a dismantling of my office that lasted several days. Ugh.

I will release a version tonight that fixes the automatic settings view but I'm not confident it will fix the problem since it was only a problem in the parser for the ui. SA itself was parsing the settings fine.

Jere

I've switched to using Sage Job Queue for managing that issue and it seems to have some extra functionality that I really like. Unfortunately when SA is done it seems to hang around for a while (maybe a minute) after finishing. It's not using any CPU cycles, but is just slightly annoying. Since I'm calling it from the command line, I tried the -close option but that made no difference. In any event I'm looking forward to the new version. I hope it has more fixes than just the automatic settings.

With this new method of calling SA I'm starting to get really accurate detection since I can be very specific which ini file to use and I can tune to individual channels or shows. The only one driving me nuts is the Sleuth channel. They have some very difficult to detect dividers. I've had to move the preselector up to 305 to find the important ones.

Take a look at the Live Detection Delay. SA may be hanging around to see if any more data shows up.

Are you looking for something specific? Remember that I'm not spending much time on the SA 0.9 branch because I'm getting SA 1.0 ready.

Some of the things I really like doing with SJQ are:

1. only start SA on scheduled recordings not files from live tv that aren't a recording I'm going to keep.

2. Several requirements can be configured for each job (i.e., only use a particular ini file if Law & Order was recorded late at night on A&E).

I still use Dirmon2 and really love it, but I've added a new set of tools to my arsenal with SJQ. I wouldn't want to ask for these extra really odd things from you because I'm far more interested in seeing what you've got up your sleeve for SA.

I didn't have any particular changes I wanted to see. I never know that I needed something from SA until you come up with an idea that I suddenly realize I desperately need. That said, I really want to see if you have something to work on self-tuning. I find SchoolHouse slightly difficult to use and would love to see some changes with the tuning.
