SA not running on Vista x64 with DVRMSToolbox

I tried to find the thread on the forum, but I was out of luck: can you tell me what the ETA for a Vista x64 version of SA is? I was in contact with Andy from DTB, and since SA does not get detected on Vista x64, I had to create my own proxy, to launch it, however for some strange it stopped working, and Andy said that you are working on a fix.

Any update/ETA would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem, and it drove me batty for many hours until I found out why. SA is not the problem, it will run just fine on Vista x64. The problem is that DVRMSToolbox (64 bit, which is what I assume you're running) is a 64-bit app, (specifically the DVRMSFileWatcher service) and SA is 32-bit. 64-bit services cannot call 32-bit apps, so you need a workaround.

Open DVRMStoMPEGSettings
Double-click "Find Commercials in DVR-MS
Remove the commands that are there
Click the Add button
Choose "Durrant.Plugins.FWThrottle"
In the dialog that pops up, uncheck "UseDefaultSettings" and leave the rest as-is. Click OK.
Click the Add button again
Choose "Durrant.Plugins.RunExternal"
Process name should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Global\ShowAnalyzer\ShowAnalyzer.exe (or your path if you installed it somewhere else)
ArgumentsContext should be "%InputFile%" (including the quotes)
Leave both checkboxes unchecked.
Click OK, then save, and you should be good to go.

This has worked well for me for many months, but all I do is skip the commercials, not convert/cut/etc, which theoretically could be done with a similar technique. I found this info on TGB but can't find it now. Let me know if it works for you.

That is more a hack then a solution. The issue is that Andy from DTB told me that Dragon Global is working on a Vista x64 bit version for SA, and I would like to know if that is the case, and if yes, what an ETA would be to be able to receive such a version.

I was working on a 64bit version of SA. Unfortunately, it isn't possible. Some of the legacy components that I use just aren't 64bit compatible.

The good news is that version 1.0 of ShowAnalyzer will work with 64bit Dtb. It is still a 32bit app, but since it isn't loaded into the process it should be fine. V1.0 works as an out of process COM server.

Andy and I are working out some final bugs and then I'll release it to private testers within the next couple of days.

Speaking of DTb, do you know how to use DTb to run against an mpg with a specific ini file? I still can't get the auto profile to work with SA and since I'm starting to use DTb with Sage I thought this might work.

No. But, if your up to it, I would welcome getting into an online chat with you to figure out the problem. It would mean that I would send you a special version, you would try it, tell me what happened, then I would send you another version, etc. until it is fixed.

If you're up for it, just let me know when is a good time.

That would be great. I'm having a similar problem with DVRMS Toolbox now. I'd love to figure it out and I really think it would be useful to have more debug logging available to see what is happening. When do you want to set this up? I could do it any time in the next 4 hours or tomorrow afternoon.
