SchoolHouse crashes .. default.ini file

On my system (XP Pro SP3) if "default.ini" is missing from the Settings folder then SchoolHouse (0.9.7.290) will crash while starting to draw the "Indexing..." window with the following information:

ShowAnalyzer SchoolHouse has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have not seen SchoolHouse crash if "default.ini" is in the Settings folder.

If "default.ini" in missing from the Settings folder then:
a) SchoolHouse appears to automatically select the default settings .. no error message
b) the "Reload" button appears to work .. no error message
c) SchoolHouse crashes while starting to draw the "Indexing..." window.

If "default.ini" in missing from the Settings folder and some other valid .ini file is selected then SchoolHouse appears to use the values from the .ini file but still crashes.

On my system the installer and normal running of Configure ShowAnalyzer, ShowAnalyzer and SchoolHouse did not put "default.ini" or "global.ini" file into the Settings folder. The files are only created by doing a "Save [All/as...]" from Configure ShowAnalyzer or SchoolHouse.
