My personal opinion is that SAV1 is somewhat useless and is not currently worth using 24/7. I've uninstalled it and gone back to a SA and Comskip combo for normal and H.264, respectively.
However, SAV1 works far better than I thought it could possibly ever work. I had a great fear that Jere had hit a brick wall and SAV1 was an impossible task that he would never be able to finish. After using SAV1 for a month or so, I'm fairly happy with the progress and I no longer fear it is an impossible task. I fact, I think it is totally possible and it is going to kick azz.
At this point, it isn't kick azz, it is sucking it, but that is a temporary problem. It is worth trying, because it will totally eliminate any fear that it is never going to work. Also, it is worth looking at the new system that eliminates DirMon. While it isn't done yet, it seems like it is going to be easier to use as it will be built in.
Jere has do some amazing work so far. I'm ready to jump back to SAV1 when a slightly better version is released.
I also didn't see any stability problems, seemed very stable on my system. I think I saw one possible crash the whole time and I wasn't ever sure if it actually crashed or I was using it incorrectly.
I see a very bright future for SAV1...
