I just got my hd-pvr 1212 yesterday, and I'm trying to set it up and either i just suck at searching or I'm doing something there are no posts about. I'm using Win7 x64.
I have sagetv 6.6 set up and working well, it records to a h264 in a .ts container. I have DirMon2 set up to watch my record folder. I have videoredo 4 and showanalyzer 1.0.54.772 installed. Both work pretty good for commercial detection run manually, but I cant get either to actually start up from dirmon2. The desired endpoint for me is to take the sagetv recording, mark the commercials then create a new video file with the commercials cut out, and the extension changed to .mpg (but not change the encoding). So I'm assuming showanalyzer wont create a output file, at the least the command line option Code:
-i [[%FULLFILESPEC%]] -o [[%PATH%/Trimmed/%BASENAME%.mpg]] So I must first run SA to create the files for commercial cuts, then run VideoRedo off the .VPrj created by SA, which I've already tested will cut the commercials off SA and allow me to change the file extension. So on to what I'm getting stuck on. I can't get SA to run and create .VPrj files and etc from Dirmon. I set program to run as: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Global\ShowAnalyzerSuite\ShowAnalyzer.exe Command line options: (blank) and targets as: .ts must exist: ts must not exist: txt or edl And i can see the file get recognized. I can see SA start and I can see it stay open in task manager but it never does anything, it uses no cpu and creates no output. Next I have to run VideoReDo. From the batch command saver i got this script. Code:
@echo off echo 1/ 1 - Starting: D:\Ed\My Recordings\Trimmed\HoweHoweTech-RipsawRevolution-542388-0.mpg cscript //nologo "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoReDoTVSuite4\vp.vbs" "D:\Ed\My Recordings\HoweHoweTech-RipsawRevolution-542388-0.ts" "D:\Ed\My Recordings\Trimmed\HoweHoweTech-RipsawRevolution-542388-0.mpg" /t4 /e Echo Done Program to run: C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoReDoTVSuite4\vp.vbs targets:.ts Command line: cscript //nologo [[%FULLFILESPEC%]] [[%PATH%/Trimmed/%BASENAME%.mpg]] /t4 /e Must exist: .ts and .VPrj must not exist: (blank) This does not launch videoredo like the code above in a batch files does. Thanks to anyone who can help, and sorry if any of this is posted anywhere I've been working on this and google'ing for 10 hours now and just cant get it working. Also sorry for any spelling or grammar it is 6 am here as of writing this. Also I'm on the trial atm, I need to get this running before I'll purchase. |

Just a follow up, maybe some of my issues are because I was running DirMon as Local System. But any attempt to get it running as a my Administrator account or my account with Admin privileges left the service unable to start.

I still just can't get DirMon service to start as any user. I even created a new account just for DirMon and put it in admin and power user groups. It just wont start.
I checked the service entry and it has the full file path. Trying to force start the service in taskmgr say service did not start due to logon failure. UAC is off and i started DirMon with run as Admin. Last edited by rashire; 01-20-2010 at 03:51 PM. |

OK I found the issue. In control panel, admin tools, services.msc i found the dirmon service and it was registered to ./DirMon
Dirmon beaing the user i created. I changed it to (systemname)/DirMon and it starts. Edit: I think the issue may have actually been the password not being stored properly. Either way working now. But it's still not launching SA correctly. Edit: I wish DirMon log files included text sent in arguments... Last edited by rashire; 01-20-2010 at 04:28 PM. |

OK ./(username) does work, but i still need to manually enter the password in the services.msc windows.
I'm trying to do some debugging and wrote a quick c# app to list out arguments that DirMon is sending. When run as local system the app runs and displays the arguments but to see it i get some weird prompt that say the program needs input (I did a readline as a pause) and clicking it takes me to a whole new desktop where the command prompt is. Running as my current user I can see the process but it's not showing up on screen at all. I'm at a total loss whats going on here. Even if it's a service when it launches a app as the current active user shouldn't the window be open? |

That setting is only available if the service is running as "local system account" though, not if running as a user. Why MS does this is anybody's guess...
