current time, current frame, current fps, average fps all zero

Showanalyzer settings all are set to default except:

GB-PVR or SageTV - Never,0
Mplayer or SageTV - beginning processing

When I start showanalyzer it says itscurrent status is "scanning..." and the elapsed time progresses, the the "current time", "current frame", "current FPS", "average FPS" all stay at zero.

Showanalyzer seems to have started but its not doing anything. Any advice? Could it be a problem with Vista x64, could it be .ts files?
